Prof. Muhammed Kasim S is the current Chair of the IEEE Kerala Section for 2024. He has an extensive history of contributions to IEEE at various levels. Over the years, he has held numerous leadership positions, such as Vice Chair of the Kerala Section and Chair of the Power and Energy Society Chapter, among others. He has also actively worked to enhance membership engagement and retention, revive inactive Student Branches, and establish new society chapters.

He is known for initiatives like forming the IEEE Education Society Chapter in Kerala in 2021, which now ranks #1 in Region 10. His leadership has led Kerala Section to achieve recognition for its innovative activities and high membership growth.

About

Prof. Muhammed Kasim S began his career as a Lecturer at TKM College of Engineering, Kollam, in 1981 and later transitioned to international experience at Zedan Consultants, Al- Khobar, from 1997 to 2002. After retiring as a Professor in 2011, he served in senior roles at TKM Institute of Technology and Musaliar College of Engineering, holding leadership positions until 2019. Since then, he has been working as a Consultant Engineer.

B. Chitti Babu received Ph.D degree in Electrical Engineering from National Institute of Technology Rourkela, India in 2012. He was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Institute of Technology Rourkela, India from 2007 to 2013. He had Post-Doctoral research appointments with the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, Poland, during 2013-2014, and with the VSB-Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic, during 2014-2015. Both of these appointments were sponsored by the European Commission, UK. He was an Assistant Professor in faculty of engineering, University of Nottingham (U.K) Malaysia Campus, Malaysia from Sep 2016- June 2018. Currently he serves as an Associate Professor in Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Kancheepuram, Chennai, India.

Research Interests

Power Electronics applications in smart distribution grids containing renewable energy sources.
Design of low power photovoltaic (PV) energy system for portable applications including MPPT algorithm.
Grid Integration of Renewable power generation System.
Control concepts in Power & Energy Systems.

Duc-Tan Tran is currently a Professor and Vice Dean at the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Phenikaa University. Prior to joining Phenikaa University, Dr. Tan was an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunication, VNU University of Engineering and Technology. He also served as the Vice Dean of the faculty from August 2016 to May 2019. He has published over 150 research papers and has been awarded the "Best Paper Award" at the 9th International Conference on Multimedia and Ubiquitous Engineering (MUE-15) and the International Conference on Green and Human Information Technology (ICGHIT-2015). In 2008, he was recognized as an excellent young researcher by Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and was awarded the third prize in the "Vietnamese Talents" contest. His primary research interests include the representation, processing, analysis, and communication of information embedded in signals and datasets. Tran actively participates in international conferences and journals by serving as a TP Co-chair, technical committee program member, track chair, session chair, and reviewer.
